Mumbai-based barber, owner of Soham Salon, Santosh Anant Borhade, turned the lockdown into an opportunity to serve the frontline fighters against COVID-19. Borhade who usually charges Rs 80 for styling and shaving the beard with a haircut, has been providing free grooming services to the policemen and doctors. Following all the necessary precautions including wearing masks and gloves while working, disinfecting all his tools using hot water or sanitizers, after each haircut, Santosh has groomed nearly 20 frontline workers per day. “Police personnel have to ensure that they wear their hair and beard neatly and doctors, too, need to wear their hair short as there is a larger risk of carrying infection in longer tresses. So, I decided to help them,” says Borhade.
