Changing shopping habits are redefining India’s beauty business, with consumers increasingly moving between online platforms, quick-commerce apps and physical stores before making a purchase.
As convenience and product research become central to the consumer’s buying journey, beauty brands are strengthening their presence across multiple retail channels to remain visible and accessible. RENÉE Cosmetics is among the homegrown players adapting to this shift.
Established in 2018 by Aashka Goradia Goble, Ashutosh Valani and Priyank Shah, the brand has broadened its reach well beyond its digital beginnings, making its portfolio of makeup, skincare, fragrances and gifting products available through a wide range of shopping formats. Alongside its direct-to-consumer website, RENÉE has expanded into:
- Leading online marketplaces
- Rapid-delivery platforms
- Exclusive brand outlets, and
- Organised retail
Ashutosh Valani, Co-founder of RENÉE Cosmetics, said the company’s early investment in digital retail enabled it to connect with consumers across the country, including emerging markets where access to organised beauty retail is still developing. He added that online platforms have also transformed purchase behaviour, with customers taking time to compare products, understand formulations and evaluate user feedback before deciding what to buy.
While attracting first-time buyers has become easier through creator collaborations, promotional campaigns and faster delivery options, Valani noted that long-term success depends on earning customer loyalty. He explained that repeat purchases are driven not by discounts alone, but by products that consistently meet consumer expectations and become part of their everyday routines.
The company is now focused on widening its distribution network, introducing new product innovations and building its international business after entering the GCC region. RENÉE recorded operating revenue of ₹440 crore in FY26, underlining its continued momentum in India’s competitive beauty market. As the sector evolves, the brand is placing equal emphasis on expanding its retail presence and cultivating lasting relationships with consumers.
