Henkel Consumer Brands reveals its growth plans as it cements its position in the Indian hair colour market. Schwarzkopf, its premium brand, has been performing well in the Indian market with its wide variety of home hair colour solutions across two ranges – Colour Specialist and Simply Color. It has chosen shades that suit the Indian hair palette.
The Indian hair colourant market has seen a robust growth in the last few years with a CAGR of 17.5% till 2026 owing to new lifestyles and urbanisation. With the pandemic making a shift in consumer behaviour of hair colouring at home, it became an opportune time for the brand to make an entry into the industry.
Henkel also added Schwarzkopf Professional to its range. This professional hair solutions arm saw Mira Rajput Kapoor as the brand ambassador. It will be launching a campaign to showcase the brand’s global strategy of reinventing hair.
According to Kartik Kaushik, Country Head – Henkel Consumer Brands, India and South Asia Export Markets, the brand has major expansion plans and predicts a 20% increase in market share in the premium sector by 2025.
