Marc Jacobs Beauty is officially making its long-awaited return, and the designer himself has given fans their first glimpse of what’s to come. During the Met Gala on May 4, Jacobs posted a photograph on Instagram holding a mirrored compact embossed with a daisy motif, captioned “Not tonite but coming soon. Legally Bronze.” The post has already amassed over 18,000 likes, confirming the feverish anticipation surrounding the relaunch.
The bronzer’s daisy detail is widely seen as a nod to Jacobs’ iconic fragrance line, known for its playful oversized daisy bottle caps. Press preview invites are also reported to be yellow, further reinforcing the motif. At the Met Gala, Marc Jacobs ambassador Rachel Sennott was spotted wearing a full face of the new range, reportedly including a new eyeliner and a lilac eyeshadow, offering the first real-world preview of the collection.
Marc Jacobs Beauty originally launched in 2013 before being discontinued in 2021 by Kendo, the LVMH-owned brand incubator, sparking widespread disappointment among its loyal fanbase. The revival comes after Coty extended its existing fragrance licence with the Marc Jacobs brand to include cosmetics, with the official relaunch confirmed for 2026.
Industry response has been immediate and enthusiastic. Skincare brand The Ordinary commented “IT’S TIME” on Jacobs’ Instagram post, while beauty industry account Trend Mood described the packaging as “so pretty with that flower detail.” Long-time fans have expressed emotional reactions, with makeup artists recalling cult favourites such as the Moonglow Lipgloss from the original line.
With its combination of nostalgic equity, distinctive packaging, and the backing of Coty’s global distribution network, Marc Jacobs Beauty’s return is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated beauty relaunches of the year.
