MahaSeWA along with Red Ant streamed a prestigious and esteemed award ceremony on 29th Jan 2023 at Hyatt Centric, Juhu in Mumbai. Brands, Companies, Entrepreneurs, and Individuals were awarded for their exceptional and remarkable achievements and highlighted their support towards the state and the country as a whole. Vandana Bhardwaj, M.D. and Spokesperson Marie Claire Salons & Academies India, was awarded the Maharashtra Ratna Purraskar 2023. She received this award for her exceptional work at her NGO, My Helping Hands.

My Helping Hands is a vegan NGO where children are taught to practice kindness and equality towards other living beings. Vandana teaches children of slums on every Sunday and the credential students are shifted from municipal schools to English medium schools and their education fees till graduation as well as basic needs are fulfilled. She has been working rigorously for less privileged children and animals since 11 years.

The Event was graced by Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Mumbai City Guardian Minister Shri Deepak Kesarkar, erstwhile Minister Shri Kripashankar Singh, Ex. Deputy Mayor Shri Arun Dev, actress Dr Aditi Govitrikar and other leading political figures.

On receiving this award, Vandana said, “It feels great when your work gets appreciation and acknowledgement. It motivates to keep going with all the hardships we go through every single day. Social work is a time consuming work but at the end when we see huge change everything becomes worthwhile. I would like to have a Sanctuary for animals and a school for children so that it becomes more organized and systematic and we can increase our numbers.”
