L’Oréal, a French cosmetics giant, in collaboration with Timeline, a Swiss Biotech Company, is set to announce a radical innovation- a skincare range that alters the skin’s biological age for a youthful appearance. The technology, called Mitopure, reenergizes the mitochondria to return the cells to a healthier state.

The Revitalized Mitochondria Enhances the Skincare Line

Lancôme’s soon-to-be-released skincare product line will contain a highly purified form of Urolithin that is named Mitopure. This postbiotic encourages mitophagy, a renewal process that helps revitalize the cell’s energy generators. The brand states that the ingredient within the product, will effect the skin’s visible biological age to improve its longevity.

Mitopure will make its first debut in the new skincare product line globally backed by a major beauty brand.

Vania Lacascade, Global Brand President of Lancôme, stressed that the brand’s goal is to shift the conversation on aging, using cutting-edge science to restore cellular vitality and offer women a new perspective on their own skin’s trajectory.

Towards Skin Longevity

Lancôme has consistently been building its skincare segment focused on longevity to be the leader of longevity beauty products and solutions. TheL’Oréal brand is working to decode the fundamental biological mechanisms to maintain and improve the skin’s health span.  With this purpose, L’Oréal has released innovative tech in this category, such as Lancôme’s Absolue Longevity The Soft Cream in 2025, made of Absolue PDRN, a biological stimulator for regeneration made of roses.

L’Oreal  also also launched Cell BioPrint a breakthrough skin analysis technology, developed in association with the Korean start-up NanoEnTek, that analyzes a skin’s protein biomarkers to provide information on the skin’s biological age, and deliver insights for the best skincare solutions to slow signs of ageing.
