Bengaluru, September 1: Urban Company, the home-services marketplace, was crowned “Startup of the Year” at the 11th edition of The Economic Times Startup Awards held in Bengaluru on Monday.
The Gurgaon-based company, founded in 2014 by Abhiraj Singh Bhal, Varun Khaitan, and Raghav Chandra, was recognised for its scale, profitability, strong governance, and trusted brand in India’s fragmented services sector. The jury highlighted Urban Company’s sustainable model and potential readiness for public markets.
The panel was chaired by former G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant and included prominent industry leaders such as Sahil Barua (Delhivery), Harshil Mathur (Razorpay), and Kalyan Krishnamurthy (Flipkart). The jury praised the firm’s durability and long-term vision.
