The new scalp treatment uses the brand’s MultiVital technology to address shedding, graying and scalp aging through a single nightly formula.

K18 has entered the hair longevity category with FutureIQ Biomimetic Hair Longevity Serum, a new scalp treatment designed to address early signs of hair aging before they become more pronounced.

The launch extends the brand’s focus beyond its molecular repair technology, which is used to address damage to the hair fibre. FutureIQ is instead positioned as a preventative haircare product, targeting the biological processes that K18 associates with shedding, premature graying and changes in scalp condition.

The serum is powered by K18’s proprietary MultiVital technology, a system combining biomimetic peptides, a root-anchoring complex and antioxidants.

According to the company, the technology works across several pathways linked to premature hair aging. Its claims include helping protect proteins involved in anchoring hair within the follicle, supporting melanin-related processes and strengthening the scalp’s natural defences against oxidative stress.

K18 says the formula is intended for people experiencing minimal to moderate shedding and those with less than 30 per cent grey hair. The company recommends applying four droppers directly to a damp or dry scalp once a night, distributing the serum evenly, massaging it in and leaving it on.

The brand’s co-founder and CEO, Suveen Sahib, said K18’s research had led it to examine the possible connections between changes in shedding, pigmentation and scalp vitality. He attributed these concerns to a combination of factors, including environmental exposure, stress, hormonal changes, lifestyle and repeated chemical services. K18’s position is that these influences may contribute to oxidative stress affecting the scalp and hair follicles.

Rather than developing separate products for each visible concern, the company says MultiVital was created to address several related biological pathways through one formula. The approach forms part of K18’s wider move into hair longevity, a category that focuses on maintaining hair and scalp health over time rather than responding only after visible changes appear.

Tom Smith, K18 Global Ambassador and co-founder of London salon AEVUM, added that the concept also has implications for professional consultations. He believes stylists can help clients consider the long-term condition of their hair, alongside the immediate finish achieved during a salon appointment.

K18 is also positioning hairstylists as an important part of the conversation around early hair changes. During regular appointments, professionals may notice differences in density, shedding, pigmentation or scalp condition that clients may not easily identify themselves. The company says this creates an opportunity for stylists to discuss preventative care and introduce clients to products intended for longer-term use.

The serum is supported by K18’s reported clinical claims. The brand says testing showed up to 19,000 more hairs retained after 90 days, fewer visible greys and an improvement in the scalp barrier. These are manufacturer claims and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of results for every user.

FutureIQ is available through K18’s website and selected retailers. The serum is priced at $120 in the United States and was scheduled to launch on August 5, 2026.
