Taj’s new wildlife retreat near Tadoba brings together private villas, dining, wellness and spaces for gatherings.
Tadoba’s growing appeal as a wildlife destination has a new luxury address. Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has opened Taj Tadoba Resort & Spa, Nagpur, a retreat located on the edge of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra.
Spread across 17 acres, the property offers 35 private villas, giving guests a choice of accommodation within a natural setting. The resort’s facilities are designed to complement a stay centred on the region’s wilderness, while offering the comforts of a full-service hotel.
Dining is led by Machan, the all-day restaurant, while Panorama Bar provides another setting for guests to spend time at the property. The resort also includes Taj’s J Wellness Circle spa, a swimming pool and a fitness centre, bringing leisure and wellness into the experience.
The opening also marks an expansion of IHCL’s presence in Central India. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Chief Operating Officer – Full-Service Business, IHCL, said the company sees India’s varied landscapes and biodiversity as increasingly important to how travellers experience the country. He pointed to Tadoba’s international appeal and described the resort as a way to bring the region’s wilderness together with Taj’s hospitality.
For the resort’s hotel manager, the focus is on helping guests connect with the surrounding landscape. Trupen Patel said the property aims to create memorable stays while offering an immersive experience of Tadoba’s wilderness.
Beyond leisure, Taj Tadoba also has meeting spaces and venues for social gatherings and corporate events. This adds a second dimension to the property, allowing it to cater to celebrations and business occasions alongside wildlife-focused stays.
