The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace was opened in Khajuraho, Madya Pradesh, showcasing the rich arts, beauty, and royal heritage emblematic of the region. The Oberoi Group, a luxury hotel group, revived the 350-year-old structure, maintaining its original design and architectural facets, especially its beautiful natural lake at the center of its 76-acre estate. Its architectural beauty, including grand chandeliers, beautiful pillars, vaulted ceilings, and an elevated terrace, was restored to return the palace to its former luxurious glory. Built by Maharaja Hindu Pat of the Bundela Dynasty on the Maniyagarh Hills, the palace is close to ancient Sal and Palash tree forests, and the towering sight of the Vindhyachal mountain ranges. The location is also near tourist attractions such as the Panna National Park & Tiger Reserve as well as the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho.
“The restoration of The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace has been an extraordinary journey of bringing history back to life,” said Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman, The Oberoi Group, seaking on the transformation. “Our teams worked meticulously to preserve the architectural integrity of this remarkable Bundela monument while introducing contemporary comforts with sensitivity and respect,” he added. “Every arch, courtyard and detail has been revived with the intention of honoring the palace’s heritage and creating a timeless experience for generations of travelers to come,” he concluded.
