With temperatures rising in Patna, salons are facing a slump in business. Aalim Rahman, a leading hair stylist in Patna said that people are not ready to step out in the day time which leaves a small window of 6pm to 8pm for business. Thus, there has been a 50-60% drop in business in the last two weeks.

According to the owner of a leading salon in Patna, Rahul Tiwari, the salon industry was already witnessing a slump in business due to the increasing competition and the rise in mercury has made it worse. Many of the services like blow dry are a BIG NO in this heat. Moreover people don’t have the patience to sit for time-consuming services given the temperatures. The wedding season being a long way off, is another dampener causing severe losses to the salon business.
