India’s leading at-home salon service, GetLook, has recently launched its transition to a physical service space through the establishment of its first luxury salon in HSR Layout, Bengaluru. The salon provides a full-service experience with face, hair, and nail therapies all under one roof.
The founders of GetLook, husband and wife duo Gaurav Maheshwari and Vatsala Kothari, have said in their statements that their aim to renovate beauty services in India has finally led to the inauguration of this in-person high-end salon in Bengaluru. They believe in being a place of beauty and wellness services which can increase the self-confidence of their clientele, and they hope that their efforts can expand the reach of their services to a larger crowd.
GetLook is not the only company which has chosen to offer at-home beauty services in cities. Younger women, especially, are going to work in numbers larger than ever before, making the timings of conventional beauty salons incompatible with their work timings. Consequently, salons are overworked and crowded during the weekends, making the consumer experience often an uncomfortable one. Further catalysed by the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 and 2021, women are choosing at-home salon services such as GetLook and Urban-Clap, among others. The customisable services with experienced professionals are convenient for both customers and providers, eliminating the need for physical shop locations.
Yet, it is evident that demand for in-person salons is still high. At-home services cannot provide the luxury look and feel of a well-designed salon, which goes a long way in providing the pampering experience which customers long for at a traditional salon. It seems that GetLook feels the same way, as they have plans to expand their salons into more locations across the country. Their ambitious plans will be a formidable strength in the beauty and wellness market in India.
