‘Forever in M·A·C’ brings together bridal beauty, family dynamics and individual style, placing makeup artistry at the heart of the modern Indian wedding.
Indian weddings rarely belong to just the couple. They bring together families, friends and personalities, each adding something to the celebrations. M·A·C Cosmetics India draws on that familiar dynamic in its latest bridal campaign, ‘Forever in M·A·C’, using the traditional family portrait as a backdrop for a more contemporary take on wedding beauty.
The campaign follows the moments leading up to the photograph, capturing the bride and her family as makeup, hair and styling come together. Rather than presenting bridal beauty as a single aesthetic, the film gives each character an individual look that reflects their personality.
At the centre is Tania Shroff as the bride, joined by Ujjwala Raut as her mother, Ankit as her brother, Subiksha Shivakumar as her bridesmaid and Nejm as her cousin. M·A·C Artists play an equally important role in the campaign, with their work featured as they create and refine each look before the group comes together for the final frame.
The campaign also puts M·A·C’s professional artists in the spotlight, offering a glimpse into the creative process behind the finished looks. Their work across makeup, hair and styling helps give each member of the wedding party a distinct visual identity while keeping the overall aesthetic cohesive.
The campaign also marks a significant creative milestone for M·A·C. Since becoming the brand’s Global Creative Director, Nicola Formichetti has brought a distinctive visual approach to its long-standing focus on artistry and self-expression. ‘Forever in M·A·C’ is his first campaign created specifically for the Indian market.
For Formichetti, India provides a natural setting for M·A·C’s philosophy because of the country’s relationship with colour, beauty and artistic expression. The campaign takes recognisable elements of the Indian wedding and gives them a contemporary interpretation, bringing together cultural traditions and a more global beauty aesthetic.
The individual makeup looks reinforce that approach. Tania’s bridal look features M·A·C ximal Sleek Satin Lipstick, offering a polished interpretation of traditional bridal glamour. Subiksha, playing the bridesmaid, wears Skinfinish Colourstruck Blush, while Ujjwala’s mother-of-the-bride look is completed with M·A·Cximal Silky Matte Lipstick.
The men’s look receives equal attention, with Ankit using Fix+ as part of his grooming routine. Nejm, meanwhile, brings definition to her eye makeup with Colour Excess Gel Pencil Eye Liner.
Together, the five looks demonstrate the campaign’s larger idea: there is no single way to approach Indian bridal beauty. The final portrait brings different ages, relationships and individual styles into one frame, while keeping makeup artistry central to the story.
With ‘Forever in M·A·C’, the brand takes one of the most recognisable images of an Indian wedding, which is the family photograph and uses it to celebrate the personalities that make it memorable.
