Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has signed definitive agreements to acquire a 51% stake in Sparsh Infratech Private Limited, the owning company of Atmantan, a renowned luxury wellness destination in Mulshi near Pune. The deal gives IHCL ownership of the Atmantan brand along with its in-house wellness expertise, paving the way for the company to expand its footprint in the rapidly growing integrated wellness segment across India and select global destinations.
With this acquisition, IHCL strengthens its position in high-end experiential hospitality, adding a specialised wellness vertical that complements its existing luxury portfolio. The company plans to scale Atmantan-branded wellness retreats within its network, aligning with rising consumer demand for curated, science-backed health and rejuvenation experiences.
Founded in 2015 by Nikhil Kapur and Sharmilee Kapur, Atmantan is built on the philosophy that holistic well-being stems from the harmony of “atma” (spirit), “mana” (mind) and “tann” (body). Over the years, it has emerged as one of India’s top integrated wellness centres, spread across 36 acres overlooking Mulshi Lake and the Sahyadri ranges.
The retreat houses 97 luxury keys and offers comprehensive, personalised programmes grounded in Ayurveda, Yoga, Indian Naturopathy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Counselling, Coaching and Fitness. Its evidence-based protocols are designed to address a wide spectrum of needs including stress reduction, detoxification, weight management and preventive healthcare.
The acquisition marks a strategic step for IHCL as it diversifies into purpose-led wellness destinations, reinforcing its long-term vision of offering holistic lifestyle experiences to a global clientele.
