The national competition offers professionals a platform to showcase creativity, technical excellence and colour innovation
Hair colour has evolved into one of the most dynamic creative disciplines in professional hairdressing, with stylists constantly pushing boundaries through innovative techniques, personalised colour placement and artistic expression. As demand for creative colour services continues to grow, platforms that recognise and celebrate professional talent have become increasingly important for the industry.
Responding to this evolution, the Velvetree Colour Awards 2026 brings together hair professionals, freelancers, educators and students from across India for a national competition dedicated to excellence in hair colouring. With free registration and only 250 entries being accepted, the competition provides participants with an opportunity to showcase their artistry, gain national recognition and compete for exciting rewards.

Round 1 | Online
Registrations are open until 15th July 2026. Participants must submit 3–5 original images of their hair colour work along with the registration form and an optional Instagram reel. Entries will be evaluated on creativity, technical execution, colour blending, styling and overall presentation, with the Top 100 advancing to the next stage.
Round 2 | 1st–18th August 2026 | Online
Shortlisted artists will create a fresh hair colour transformation using Velvetree Hair Colour products and submit a 30–60 second Instagram reel. Judging will focus on creativity, colour placement, transformation quality, technical execution and visual storytelling.
Grand Finale | 29th September 2026 | The Tivoli, Chattarpur, New Delhi
The Top 30 finalists will compete live under the theme “Creative Colour,” showcasing editorial, runway and colour-blocking inspired looks before a panel of five industry judges.
The winner will receive ₹1,50,000, an engraved trophy, a Velvetree hamper, a professional photoshoot, social media recognition and a Certificate of Excellence. The first and second runners-up will also receive cash prizes, trophies, hampers and photoshoots, while all remaining finalists will be recognised with hospitality, certificates, social media features and exclusive goodie bags.
