Beauty never goes out of fashion and brides slay the beauty game perfectly on their wedding day. Given the runaroundrunaround involved towards the prep for the special day, brides are required to take care of their skin, hair and body not to forget overall wellness. Let’s begin with what goes into the prep for the big day.Shaili Sanghvi & Payal Sheth, Founders, The Wedding Clinic recommend that proper consultation holds the key. It should be finalized as soon as the wedding date is fixed. They further add, “A timeframe of 6 months is a must to prep up the bride. These days we see that clients come to us 3 months before the wedding. This is not advisable. They should see a dermatologist and come to a skin clinic soon so that all the concerns can be identified and accordingly a customized plan can be made. Another reason is hair and skin require a particular timeframe to deliver the desired results.”

Concerns and Treatments

Common concerns like acne, pigmentation, scars need to be fixed before the D – Day. Brides also sometimes experience excessive hair fall due to multiple factors including stress that can also affect the, skin. While it may not have been not seem to be a large concern initially, it can eventually become a bigger concern.

Treatments like treating body hair, body contouring, face contouring need time. Shaili Sanghvi & Payal Sheth reveal, “As far as treatments are concerned, for hair there are treatments for hair fall, hair growth, anti-dandruff, body acne due to dandruff, pigmentation of the body then we also use look at treating it. For brides who have timeline more than 6 months we recommend doing body laser as well. Some also need advanced treatments like slimming or contouring of the face or contouring of the body. Most clients opt for bikini and underarm laser a lot. A lot of clients also opt for full body laser if there is time.

When it comes to bridal treatments, aesthetic treatments need to start a few months in prior. Manjul Gupta, Founder of Bodycraft salon in Bengaluru reveals, “Hydra Medi Facial (a dermat recommended facial that cleanses, exfoliates and nourishes the skin for a renewed glow), IV wellness drips (a cocktail of essential vitamins and minerals that directly enter the bloodstream to ensure maximum absorption, these can boost metabolism, improve immunity and even help with hangovers!) should be done 1 week before.”

Skin boosters like Volite (this is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that ensures long-lasting hydration to the skin and gives one a long-lasting glow with baby-soft skin), Dermapen microneedling (microneedling minimises the appearance of pores, fine lines and dull textured skin to give youthful, healthy, radiant looking skin) should be done 2 months before, adds Manjul Gupta.

Shaili Sanghvi & Payal Sheth recommend

  • Face contouring for a good shine and glow. It can be done only if there is time
  • Hair spa to help brides manage stress along with managing dandruff and hair fall issues
  • Body shine therapy (a 3 hour body therapy) that includes scrub, mask and a full body wrap followed by massage. It gives a nice shine and hydration to the skin
  • For the face, a combination of treatments that includes a lot of hydration procedure like aquafacial to induce hydration and hydrating serums. It works well from the exfoliation and hydration point of view which is combined with a laser light-based procedure that takes care of any mild pigmentation, redness that clients may have.
  • For facial hair there is dermaplaning. This is done if they come to us with less time.

Treatments in demand

Carbon facial, Hydrafacial and vampire facial are in demand. Vampire facial is also known as the Korean glass facial. A lot of clients come in demanding glass skin and the treatment we recommend for that is the vampire facial. It is very well suited for Indian skin and gives brilliant results and it works for all kind of skin types. The downtime is also very less. It is an 8 – 10 step procedure that involves exfoliation and infusion and lot of dead skin comes out,” adds Shaili Sanghvi & Payal Sheth. For body, body peels, body shine, laser lightening, body contouring and stretchmark treatment are available.

Manjul Gupta sees brides coming in for Volite, micro needling, Hydra Medi Facial and IV wellness drips as these are effective and popular.

A word of caution by Manjul Gupta. “Don’t try new services too close to your wedding day, plan your aesthetic treatments like fillers, botox and microneedling in advance as these treatments have a bit of downtime before they show the best results.”

Seek professional help

Only a professional can identify what is best for the skin. It is easy to fall prey to a trend that will easily damage the skin. Seek professional advice on what will suit their skin. “Choose the right beauty professional to make sure you are giving yourself in the right hands,” concludes Shaili Sanghvi & Payal Sheth.
