Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR will depend on solar power for its energy needs following the completion of a 50 kWp solar power plant as part of sustainable efforts and environmental protection. This also adheres to its responsible hospitality efforts under the IHCL’s Paathya initiative.

Aside from renewable energy, other sustainable decisions include changes to its water management and waste reduction. To that effect, the resort’s sewage and effluent treatment plants are capable of treating water at a capacity of 350 KLD, which is then recycled for use in cooling towers and landscape irrigation.

Additionally, an in-house water bottling facility can supply up to 1,000 bottles of 500 ml each, reducing the need for purchasing packaged bottled water. Four rainwater harvesting recharge pits replenish groundwater sources to maintain the water level, while an organic waste composter helpfully feeds the plants in its horticulture program by converting food waste to manure.

To encourage electric car use to reduce emissions, three electric vehicle (EV) charging points were set up for their eco-conscious guests. In line with responsible refrigerant management practices, R22 refrigerants across all refrigeration units have been removed to protect the ozone layer.

Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR has undertaken these steps to enforce sustainable practices towards ensuring environmental safety, and long-term protection, thus promoting a business based on responsibility and clean functioning.
