Empowering underprivileged youth to rewrite their futures with its Shaping Futures 2025 initiative

Schwarzkopf Professional expands its commitment to social impact with Shaping Futures 2025. In partnership with Yuva Parivartan, the initiative focuses on skill development and opens access to professional hairdressing education for underprivileged youth.

With its 127-year legacy in elevating the craft, Schwarzkopf Professional offered free, world-class training to 20 young adults from difficult backgrounds, providing mentorship, technical skills, and professional exposure rooted in the belief that skill is dignity. The four-week curriculum, led by global experts Tara Rose, Julia Schwittai, Emma Williamson, Roswitha Ott and local mentors, covered essential techniques across cutting, colour, salon management, and professional etiquette. The final module was taught by Arjan Bevers, Schwarzkopf Professional’s Global Colour Ambassador, who volunteered to train participants in precision haircutting.

Kaisimon Goerlitz, Global Senior CSR and Sustainability Manager at Henkel Consumer Brands, noted, “Shaping Futures is the living expression of Schwarzkopf Professional’s brand purpose: lifting self-potential through hair, colour and style. The programme translates this purpose into real social impact by opening doors for individuals who have talent but lack opportunity.”

The programme concluded with a vibrant graduation at the Mumbai ASK Academy, where participants showcased their work before industry leaders and received certificates and internship placements, marking the start of their professional journeys.

Kartik Kaushik, Head of Henkel Consumer Brands for India & South Asia, added, “Shaping Futures reflects Schwarzkopf Professional’s commitment to building the next generation of skilled hairdressers, empowering young talent while strengthening the professional ecosystem that drives our salon partners and the industry forward. Henkel is fully committed to fulfil its corporate social responsibility for the good of society through this well-crafted program.”
