Root Botanie has introduced an AI-led scalp analysis platform, positioning it as a move toward diagnosis-first haircare in India. The tool, described as a real-time AI trichologist, aims to address a long-standing gap of consumers treating symptoms without understanding underlying scalp conditions.

The brand highlights that many users rely on trial-and-error when dealing with concerns such as hair fall, dandruff, or oil imbalance. Insights from its beta testing across more than 5,000 users in Delhi NCR and Mumbai indicated widespread misjudgment of scalp issues, with a majority using unsuitable product categories and only a small percentage accurately identifying their condition.

The newly launched platform allows users to describe concerns via chat or upload scalp images for analysis. It then delivers a personalised assessment, identifying potential root causes and offering simplified explanations of the condition.

Beyond diagnosis, the system extends into solution-building. Users receive tailored product suggestions, care routines, and structured plans aimed at improving scalp health over time. The platform also incorporates nutrition guidance, recognising the role of internal factors such as diet and lifestyle in hair health.

Founder Saurabh Pandey shared that many hair concerns stem from factors like scalp imbalance or deficiencies rather than the visible symptoms consumers tend to focus on. He added that the platform is designed to connect scalp health with broader lifestyle inputs.

Root Botanie positions this launch as the foundation of a new category centred on biology-led, personalised care. The brand combines biotechnology-based actives with Ayurvedic ingredients, while also focusing on scalp microbiome balance and gender-specific formulations.

Currently available in a free beta format, the platform enables users to access scalp analysis and customised care plans, reflecting a broader shift toward more data-driven and individualised approaches in India’s haircare market.
