Grace Garcia, a US-based woman was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer after her nail technician went too harsh on her cuticle. Grace got a manicure from her nail salon.  The nail technician who did the manicure was quite aggressive with Grace’s cuticle.

After her appointment, Grace noticed that a blister had appeared on her cuticle. Grace claimed that her right finger had been hurting a lot. She revealed that her finger didn’t show any signs of healing for the next three months. So she got worried and consulted a dermatologist who advised her to get a biopsy done of the injured finger.

Grace was diagnosed with a non-melanoma form of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. Dr. Teo Soleymani then treated Grace. He revealed that Human papillomavirus (HPV) was the cause of this skin cancer. Dr. Teo claimed that the manicure may have been the trigger for Grace developing this cancer which develops slowly on the upper layer of the skin.
