Keeping in sync with its expansion plans, Unilever announced its decision to add K18, the leading haircare brand to its prestige portfolio. K18, the haircare brand established by Suveen Sahib and Britta Cox in 2020, has been at the pinnacle in terms of educating consumers about the science of hair through the medium of social media.
K18 has always made a serious attempt to understand the causes of issues related to hair and addresses these through its varied range of products. This aspect makes it the favourite among salon professionals and consumers alike. K18Peptide™, its first ever molecule helps to reverse hair damage in minutes, which ensures immediate results minus any complex treatment.
Expressing happiness about this acquisition, Vasiliki Petrou, Unilever Prestige CEO, said, “This acquisition complements our fast-growing portfolio of premium, culturally-relevant consumer brands. What Suveen, Britta and the team have created is a testament to the importance of brands built on unparalleled science, product efficacy and community love.”
Suveen Sahib, Co-founder and CEO of K18 said, “We are elated to join forces with Unilever, who sees the value in our unique biology-first and biotech approach that is more sustainable and efficacious. Our team is proud to join its Prestige beauty business of future forward brands that deliver true impact.”
K18 is distributed through professional salons, retail, and eCommerce primarily in North America, UK and Australia. Terms of the deal are still under wraps. The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2024.
