The Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab has developed a new ‘Wellness Tourism’ policy that proposes having advanced wellness resorts offering traditional methods of wellness like naturopathy and Ayurveda.
These state-of-the-art resorts will be in three categories – Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each resort will be spread across 2 acres of land with the Gold category having a minimum of 10 acres. There will be tented facilities at these centres with the gold category having in-house services. All the facilities will have amenities like swimming pools, facilities for sports and a lot of open green spaces among others.
According to the policy, these resorts will hire experts from the field of Ayurveda, Unani, Yoga instructors/professionals. The policy also proposes ‘Wellness Tourism’ travel with the aim of enhancing personal well-being including physical, mental, environmental, and spiritual health. These resorts will promote positive health, revival of energy, and a healthy lifestyle using services such as spa, Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, Naturopathy and skincare treatment.
