On the occasion of World Hair Donation Day, 130 hair donations were done on the first day of the campaign. Spread over 3 days from March 5, 17 hair donations were taken at Prabhat Salon (Panchwati) in the presence of the representative of Rotary Club of Udaipur Panna, Lakecity Beauty Club Udaipur and Jinhal Foundation.
Attended by Mahesh Sen, Rotary Panna President, former President Rajesh Sharma and Alam Khan, Ashok Paliwal, Rotary Club of Udaipur Panna and Chairperson of Hair Donation Project revealed that this year along with all the Rotary Clubs (3054), 24 associations and organizations of India received excellent support.
He also mentioned that Indian women like to have long hair, their family members too. Despite these traditions, donations by several women (from 10 years old daughters to 71 years old grandmothers) made this campaign successful. Men with long hair too participated in this campaign.
Ashok Paliwal, Rotary District Governor Rotarian Dr. Balwant Chirana, Secretary Neeraj Aggarwal, Assistant Governor Ritu Vaishnav, Rotary Panna President Mahesh Sen, Secretary Himanshu Taylor Patron Bhanupratap Singh, Tarika Bhanu Pratap Singh, Rakesh Sen, Om Prakash Barbar, Smita Bairathi, Chetan Prakash Sen was handed over a box of 130 hair donations to be sent to MADAT Charitable Trust, Mumbai. These organizations require 12″ inch hair of 4-5 women to make hair wig.
Initiated in 2019, this campaign witnessed hair donations from more than 1800 women and is an ongoing project. Rotary Club of Udaipur Panna has made this a permanent project and started a hair donation campaign at the national level in the same year.
