International beauty companies L’Oreal, Natura Co. and Unilever are among the 45 global corporate majors to be awarded the Terra Carta Seal, a new sustainability award spearheaded by HRH Prince Charles in recognition for their credible moves to achieve Net Zero before the 2050 target.
The 45 inaugural Terra Carta Seal awardees represent a wide range of industries and were chosen for their “leadership position within their industry and who have credible transition roadmaps underpinned by globally recognized, scientific metrics to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.” This means reducing emissions to net zero levels by 2050 or earlier.
The sustainability award is spearheaded by Prince Charles’ Sustainable Markets Initiative a network of corporate leaders he launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January
2020, which released earlier this year the Terra Carta Charter which provides a roadmap towards a sustainable future.
Tech Mahindra is the only Indian company to be awarded the inaugural Terra Carta Seal.
