L’Oréal India is all set to launch its first dermatological beauty division in India with the skincare brand, CeraVe. Earlier the brand had introduced this segment in the country through La Roche Posay and Vichy, but it was withdrawn soon.
According to Rami Itani, Director of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty at L’Oréal India, it is the right time to enter the Indian market as there is more awareness and also disposable money with people. Even e-commerce and social media are at an all-time high now, making it the right time to launch the dermatological beauty division in India. According to Aseem Kaushik, Managing Director of L’Oréal India, there is a grave need for good dermatological care in the country as the ratio of dermatologists to consumers is only 0.7 per 1,000 people. It is one of the lowest in the world. With the launch of CeraVe, consumers and dermatologists both will get expert skincare offerings.
CeraVe will be available at a starting price of Rs.315 and the company plans to soon introduce other brands from the division in the country.
