IndiaSkills 2024 was a grand celebration of skills, innovation, and passion. Competitors from every corner of the nation gathered to showcase their talents across over 61 diverse skills. The event kicked off with a spectacular opening ceremony on 15th May’2024 that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of India, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey. Over 900 candidates, including 170+ women, showcased their skills from 30+ states at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, Delhi, from May 16th to May 19th.
IndiaSkills 2024 achieved an extraordinary milestone. With 74 Gold, 67 Silver, and 73 Bronze medalists, the talent on display was truly exceptional. It stands as a shining example of our nation’s unwavering commitment to skill development and excellence.
The Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council, the nodal agency to develop and impart skills in the Beauty & Wellness industry, managed the competition in 3 skills: Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, and Yoga.
20 States & UTs participated in Beauty Therapy skill along with 2 wild card entries from Assam & Odisha, thus taking the total participation in Beauty Therapy as 22. Pritisha Barman from Assam won the Gold, Rojalin Brahma from Odisha took the Silver, and Tahesin Sutarr from Maharashtra earned a Bronze medal in Beauty Therapy.
In Hairdressing, Yash Chavan from Maharashtra secured Gold, Aryan Sen from Rajasthan claimed Silver, and Avni Sharma from Odisha and Karishma Das from Bihar tied for Bronze.
In yoga, Elanthendral MS from Tamil Nadu bagged the Gold Medal. 3 winners tied for Silver Medal – Madhu Mohan from Karnataka, Ayush Mishra from Chhattisgarh and Pranav Aher from Maharashtra. Pranshu Gahlot from Rajasthan won the Bronze Medal
The gold medal winners in Beauty Therapy & Hair Dressing will now be trained under the Chief Experts of the respective skills & would also get to learn from the top industry leaders & experts who will rightfully skill them to represent India at WorldSkills2024 in Lyon, France from 10th to 15th September’2024.
