Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) tool called SkinBug. It can predict how some molecules in cosmetics can react with skin microbes and harm the consumer. The software has over a million reactions in it and can use it to predict how a molecule will be metabolised by the skin. It can also tell if the molecule will change into a toxic product or a carcinogen. Soon, the research firm will give this software to two of the top-notch companies for their products.
