Coty, one of the largest beauty companies globally, plans to expand the presence of its Prestige and Consumer Beauty business segments in India. It has made huge investments in the country for the same and has also appointed Rizwan Mulla as Business Development Director, India, along with new office premises and a new team. It has also signed a strategic agreement with House of Beauty, a leading distribution and marketing company. Mulla will look at new business growth opportunities, nurture important partnerships for Coty in India, and improve operations.

Coty is one of the largest fragrances companies in India, valued at US$16.5 billion. According to Kristina Strunz, Managing Director, Coty Southeast Asia and India, the company has seen immense growth of Prestige Beauty in India and now it is one of the long term growth opportunities for Coty. Investment in Coty’s Indian operations shows the company’s interest in cementing its place in the booming Indian beauty industry.

India is one of the main distribution markets for Coty prestige brands including, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Gucci Beauty, Burberry Beauty, and Davidoff fragrances, as well as consumer brands such as MaxFactor, Rimmel, and Adidas. In 2023, Coty India expanded by more than 65% and it will grow in the year ahead too with the launch of many new fragrances, brand launches, and huge campaigns. Some of the main campaigns would be introducing Burberry Beauty’s new niche fragrance, Burberry Goddess and Her Elixir; launching Gucci Flora Magnolia; and an exclusive lifestyle collaboration with Davidoff. Coty also plans to have the latest MaxFactor campaign along with a new range from Adidas for local consumers.

Coty’s strategic distribution partnership with House of Beauty is another feather in the cap. It will cover the launch of Kylie Cosmetics in India and having a retail marketing programme for Kylie Jenner fans in India. House of Beauty will use its expertise in premium distribution and brand building to develop new beauty brands and have omnichannel retail concepts.
