Under the National Ayush Mission’s Swasthya project, there will be 600 health and wellness centres in Kerala by 2024 thanks to help from local self-governments. The project was started in 2019 with 520 such centres.

Presently, the Kerala government is improving the Ayurveda and Homeo dispensaries and plans to offer holistic wellness to people. It is their endeavour to offer tests, yoga, fitness training, screening facilities, awareness classes, medicine supply, and counselling at these health and wellness centres.

According to Dr. Noushad, the District Programme Manager for National Ayush Mission, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Idukki, there has been a rise in the number of hospitals and patients, which is not a good sign. These wellness centers will help reduce the load on hospitals and will offer help in three segments, geriatic health, adolescent, and mother & child.
