The beauty and wellness industry is set to receive relief measures from the MSME Ministry to help overcome the crisis caused by the Coronavirus.
Top representatives of the Indian Beauty and Wellness industry represented the key issues facing 70 Lakh skilled workers of the industry in an online interaction with Minister Nitin Gadkari recently. Indicating that the COVID 19 pandemic had brought the female entrepreneur dominated industry to a standstill, they asked Hon. Minister for relief measures to help them tide over the crisis. Currently facing an enormous liquidity crunch, they asked for financial assistance in the form of collateral free loans, extension in GST payments, talent costs etc.
Other relief measures sought include health cover and life insurance for their employees comprising mainly of women or migrant workers, a vulnerable segment. The members of beauty and wellness industry comprising of beauty parlours barbers, salons, spas, clinics and educational institutions were advised by the Hon. Minister to register as MSME to avail all of its many benefits.
