India’s most celebrated luxury rail journey through South India is back — and better appointed than ever. IRCTC has unveiled the revamped Golden Chariot for the 2026–27 tourism season, introducing redesigned cabins, elevated dining, and a strengthened wellness offering that positions the train firmly within the luxury hospitality conversation.

The train accommodates up to 80 guests across 40 artfully appointed cabins, with an accommodation mix of 13 double-bed cabins, 26 twin-bed cabins, and one cabin designed for differently abled guests — all finished with polished wood surfaces, hand-picked upholstery in muted tones, plush linens, and subtly scented bath amenities. Smart TVs and Wi-Fi streaming add a contemporary layer to the heritage-inspired interiors.

Dining and social life aboard are anchored by two fine-dining restaurants — Ruchi and Nalapaka — and the Madira lounge bar. For restoration between excursions, the Arogya Spa & Fitness Centre offers Ayurvedic therapies and wellness treatments alongside a compact fitness area.

Three signature itineraries are on offer for the season. The flagship Pride of Karnataka covers Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hampi and Goa, blending royal history with temple architecture and coastal charm. Jewels of South threads through Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur and Cochin. A shorter Glimpses of Karnataka route features Bandipur and Chikkamagaluru. Promotional offers include a 20% discount on select departures, with an additional 5% early-bird discount for bookings confirmed by June 30, 2026. All packages cover onboard meals, guided sightseeing, and monument entry fees.
