Nailing it with a purpose

Get Gorgeous is a salon chain in Bengaluru that is making sure its denizens are well groomed with its new age beauty bar setup. Incepted by Maude Abraham eight years ago in Bengaluru, Get Gorgeous has since then grown multifold with two branches in Lavelle Road and recently in Jayanagar. She spent the first 1.5 years building the brand as a B2B supplier for all nail enhancement products. After training in Singapore, she became a certified nail technician. Over a span of two years, Maude went on to become a successful nail service provider. For some time, Get Gorgeous also operated out of WeWork, Galaxy for a year and then turned into a pop-up concept at WeWork locations all over the city.

Uniqueness of the salon

Get Gorgeous prides itself in quality work while being ‘chiconomic’ with unique features like gorgeous views from the pedicure platforms and the tagline ‘Hello Gorgeous’, the brand was born to bridge the gap in the beauty industry and the consumers with the prime focus on quality of nails, eyelash, and hair services. Described as a beauty bar with a purpose, the salon does lashes, brows, nails, and haircuts for both men and women. The brand ensures that it constantly stays on top of the game, probably as the finest nail artistry in Bengaluru.

Design and Theme

Built with a purpose to fulfil different beauty requirements, the décor of the beauty bar is contemporary and chic. Elaborating on the factors for naming the salon as a beauty bar, Maude says “I loved the term and the idea of a bar, ie., quick services at your fingertips. Further, accurate placement of furniture and equipment at the right spots ensure maximum productivity. We used clean lines to keep the ambiance chic and comfortable whilst ensuring every client gets the perfect GG (Get Gorgeous) experience. Also, our brand colours are gender fluid as we cater to all.”

Education and Training

Get Gorgeous lays a lot of emphasis on education. The staff are chosen carefully and Maude insists that a basic beautician training is a must. “We build on training and let them learn under our guidance. New joinees need to attend the Get Gorgeous in-house training sessions for

two weeks. These sessions are conducted every month. They also need to get well versed with our SOPs to ensure that clients get the Get Gorgeous experience.” Maude explains. “We also conduct internal examinations to ensure that our staff is always learning and upgrading their skill set. Apart from our in-house training, brands associated with Get Gorgeous also send their trainers once in 3-6 months to ensure up to date product knowledge,” adds Abraham.
Get Gorgeous uses well-known products that include Bluesky, OPI, Footlogix, Mintree, IBD, SP Wella and Nashi.

The Treatment

I decided to try the spa manicure and pedicure at Get Gorgeous. The session began with filing the nails. After filing, the feet and hands were given a nice warm water soak after which a cuticle softener was applied on the cuticles. Using a cuticle pusher, the cuticles were cleaned and the extra growth carefully cut. The nails were then buffed and shaped and again soaked in warm water. My feet were scrubbed and cleaned to get rid of any dead skin, post which a scrub is applied and massaged till it almost disappears. The hand and feet were washed again and then a de-tan pack was applied. This pack is left to dry for 5-10 minutes and then washed off. After this, a massage cream is applied followed by a quick and invigorating massage. After wiping any excess cream and selecting the nail polish shade two coats of nail polish are applied and finished with a clear topcoat. After drying the nails, my therapists Aruna and Vashy from Manipur ensured that my nails got a fabulous makeover. After all, happy feet and happy hands are a great way to spend some relaxing moments with yourself.
