Meet Khyati Patel, the creative nail tech who won the HBS 2024 Nailathon Competition in the Bridal Chic Category! Basking in the prestige of being awarded the Winner’s Trophy and a Gold Medal, Khyati talks about what it took for her to become the ultimate winner at HBS 2024!
1.How do you feel about winning the trophy at HBS 2024?
I am incredibly happy! Before I entered this competition, I knew nothing about participating on such a grand scale. I was very nervous. But I am so thankful that I decided to participate, because that one decision led me to win this prestigious award!
2.What was your inspiration for your look?
I took inspiration from the one stroke style that was trending at my studio during that time. I decided on the theme of one stroke and added a unique touch of 5D to it. The theme was ‘peach fuzz’, so I chose the appropriate colour combination, added some pearl glitter, stonework, and ombre effect to create the entire nail look!
3.Did you face any challenges?
The one stroke art is in itself a very challenging and time consuming process. It was very difficult for me to finish the entire look within an hour.
4.How has this win changed your professional life?
Winning this award has given me a lot of recognition. There has been a noticeable difference in my life ever since I have won at HBS. Today, all my students and clients treat me like an ‘award winning nail artist’ that I am! This win has definitely changed my professional life for the better.
5.What message would you like to give to the new contestants?
Please practice as much as you can before the competition! Challenge yourself and your creativity to its fullest, and make sure that you work as fast you can!
