StyleSpeak brings to you some of the best looks slayed by celebs at MET GALA 2024
The Met Gala 2024 is the talk of the town as the attendees this year stole the show. The Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and this year’s exhibit was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’. The dress code ‘Garden of Time’ witnessed several unique styles that are worth discussing.
1) Zendaya – The Dark Goddess Look
Zendaya did it again! Stylist Law Roach went for a ‘dark feminine trend’ for the first of her two looks. Her dress involved faux grapes, a veil and a long feather on her hair. Makeup artist Raoul Alejandre chose a dramatic maroon smokey eye and oxblood shiny lip with skinny 1920s long brows. Hairstylist Ursula Stephen on the other hand, trusted the Dyson hair tools which helped her achieve the perfect low bun mimicking the elegant calla lily flower.
2) Anok Yai – Diamond Cat Look
The real-life ‘Model of the Moment Barbie’, Anok Yai was seen at the Met Gala wearing a Swarovski-designed full-body gem jumpsuit. Sheika Daley, a top Lancôme makeup artist, gave her icy and luminous makeup, making her shiny eyes the main character of the entire look. A perfect smokey wing eye with a beautiful inner corner highlighter in silver stood out with every camera flashlight that hit her. Her glowy base perfectly complemented the glossy nude lip. For hair, stylist Jawara gave her a feathered slick pixie with a rich kiss curl.
3) Amanda Seyfried – White Swan Look
Amanda Seyfried’s retro-and-modern look included stunning silver hair slicked back with finger curls by hairstylist Renato Campora and a hair piece matching her silver Prada gown. Her makeup artist Genevieve Herr, went with a very pale, almost matte skin with high blush on cheeks. She used Lancôme for the face including Le Lip Liner in ‘265 Portelle’ and Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick in ‘509 Rêve Toujours’.
4) Taylor Russel – Sculpture of Elegance Look
Makeup artist Celia Burton chose to do an earthy-toned look that resembled nature and Taylor’s Loewe dress. Celia stuck with the tried and tested catty flick eyeliner that elongated her inner corners. She used a chocolate wooden shade that matched the flower motif on the corset. Hairstylist Joey George dolled her up with a perfect mini fringe.
5) Tyla – Mother of Sand Look
This ‘Garden of Time’ welcomed another new flower this year. Tyla debuted at the Met Gala wearing an extraordinary Balmain gown entitled “Sand of Time”, and a matching Pat McGrath bronze makeup look. She created a bronze smoky eye and a warm sun-kissed look on Tyla’s face using Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo. Tyla’s hair was styled in bouncy curls for a sleek, layered bob.
6) Alia Bhatt – Desi Diva Look
Alia wore a Sabyasachi creation that was a 23-foot-long, hand-embroidered saree representing India. Puneet Saini, her makeup artist went with dewy makeup and highlighted her delicate features like cheekbones and bridge of the nose creating a luminous look. Coral blush on her cheeks, soft brown eyeliner and peachy pink lipstick added a little more character to the look topped with beautiful soft freckles. Her hairstylist Amit Thakur created a messy bun that complemented the head jewellery.
7) Elle Fanning – Glass Snow White Look
Elle Fanning looked like an ice princess in a Balmain glassy transparent gown. Erin Ayanian-Monroe, Elle’s long-term makeup artist kept things rosy and natural using a tender rose blush and a nude pink lip. For hair, Elle had her blonde blunt lob styled in mermaid waves tucked behind her ears elegantly.
8) Sydney Sweeney – Springtime Vixin Look
Hairstylist Glen Oropeza gave Sydney a novel natural wavy black bob hair with fringe. The LANEIGE Lip Sleeping mask in ‘Berry’ was the go-to product for the LANEIGE ambassador to achieve that glossy lip. Her makeup artist Melissa Hernandez crafted an edgy, yet delicately feminine look using Armani Beauty’s Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in shade 53 and Luminous Silk Glow Blush in shade 51. Lastly, Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer in the shade 2 was used on her face and body for extra glamour.
9) Lil Nas X – Crystal Clear Look
While all the attention was centred around the celebrities dresses, makeup and hair, Lil Nas X’s diamond garden nails grabbed eyeballs. Temeka Jackson, the artist behind those beautiful nails calls it a “Glam Slam” and had used OPI’S gel shade in ‘Go Big or Go Chrome’. The nails had 50,000 Swarovski Crystals on it which upgraded the entire look of it.
10) Emma Chamberlain – Fantasy Gothic Look
Once again, Emma Chamberlain managed to look as enchanting as ever on the stairs of Met Gala this year. The coffee brown makeup look beautifully complemented her reminiscent of a dead, calm and thorny winter-themed dress. Makeup artist, Kelsey Deenihan used Lancôme for the entire look and an unreleased shade, ‘Ardent Drama’ for the dramatic smokiness and Lancôme’s Le Lip Liner Pencil in ‘283 Amandelle’ and L’Absolue Rogue Drama Matte lipstick in ‘510 Divine Idylle’ to achieve 90’s esque onber lips.
