Brits paraded on the red carpet with style statements to swoon over at the BAFTA TV Awards 2021

After having a grand virtual event in April, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards or the BAFTA 2021 returned with a hybrid physical and digital format version held at the London Television Centre. Television’s biggest award show served up some serious style moments. From crystal-embellished mini dresses to flamboyant floor-length gowns – all stars looked hot and trendy in their designer glad rags at UK’s most glamorous show. StyleSpeak does a wrap up of the head-turning looks from the night. Let’s have a look.

Michaela Coel – Black is beautiful

Miechaela Coel was the star of the event at the BAFTA 2021, winning two leading awards for her mini-series “I May Destroy You”. Not only did she sweep the audiences with her performances in the TV series but she also looked like a million bucks in a classic black Maximilian gown. The sleek floor-length gown with striking front slit and back cut-outs and bold red cuffs made a style statement like no other.

While her gown added to the oomph factor, her thick gold chain with gold rings in each finger gave it a royal finesse. Michaela completed the look with her black hair combed in a sleek bob that complemented her natural makeup.

Nicola Coughlan – Vibrant and vivacious

Nicola wowed the audiences in a tangerine Valentino with large puffed sleeves. She rocked the look with a contrasting peacock blue eyeshadow and the not to miss, bubble gum pink Valentino pumps. The Bridgerton star accessorized her look with jewels from Vashi and her confident attitude.

Letitia Wright – Posing up a storm in Prada

Glittering on the red carpet in a stunning black Prada shirt dress with crystal embellishments, Letitia Wright looked absolutely stunning. She served up her brand of fashion with glitz and glamour, redefining the codes of occasion wear.

The blingy shirt was covered with jewels right from the collar around the neck, while the chic black skirt had the signature metal Prada emblem on one side. Letitia completed this ‘chic-meets-bling’ look with strappy high heels that accentuated her slender legs and diamond accessories to match her embellished attire. Her hair was cropped short in tight curls, while her makeup was subtle.

AJ Ododu – Lady in Red

Radio presenter AJ Ododu sashayed down the red carpet in a one-shouldered feathered number in bright red, which she set off with

statement gold jewellery and gold high-heels. Her outfit perfectly matched the red carpet. With its asymmetric neckline, cinched waist and stunning feather embellishment, there was no way that this ensemble could go unnoticed. AJ completed the look with Jimmy Choo heels and Bvlgari jewellery, all in gold.

She opted for a natural makeup look and wore her raven strands in a sleek bob neatly tucked behind the ears as AJ wanted her statement outfit to speak for itself.

BAFTA is not only an award show for the brilliance in British television, but it is also a night of glitz and glamour where the stalwarts of television descend in their dazzling ensembles. BAFTA 2021 was one such gala evening where glamour reigned on the red carpet in all its glory.

Lydia West – Stylish and chic

Lydia West walked the red carpet in a figure-hugging Loewe black gown with white puffed shoulders. Her dress stopped just above the ground, showing off her peep-toe black heels. She looked sophisticated and chic with a sculptural side fringe and effortless makeup focusing only on the eyes. Lydia accessorized this stylish ensemble with a black clutch and small pearl earrings to add a hint of bling.

Cush Jumbo – Glamorous and Gutsy

Looking stunning in a sequin gown by Michael Kors, Cush Jumbo made quite a wave at the BAFTA 2021. The floor-sweeping all-black gown with a plunging neckline caught the frenzy of the shutterbugs. Cush sported her signature short crop, allowing her feathery lashes and bold brows to take centre stage, while she kept her makeup simple. The look was complete with Messika jewellery and simple black, strappy heels.
