The International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Scientists (IFSCC) has announced its debut conference, The Cosmetic Conference, in association with In-Cosmetics Asia, sponsored by DSM-Firmenich. The two-day conference will bring together leading experts from around the world to share their knowledge and insights on the latest trends and advancements in cosmetic science.
The conference will feature a packed schedule of technical and scientific-led talks from renowned speakers from L’Oréal, Shiseido, A*Star Skin Research Labs, Formulae 8, and Shieling Laboratories. The event will explore emerging trends such as the microbiome, pigmentation, the power of beauty for aging skin, and more. With the global beauty and personal care market projected to reach $253.1 billion this year, the conference is set to unite industry leaders and scientists from diverse disciplines to foster collaboration and innovation.
The conference will also delve into the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the cosmetics market, which is valued at $3.22 billion in 2022. It is predicted to reach $15.75 billion by 2031. Industry expert Perry Romanowski will discuss how AI is reshaping cosmetic formulation, exploring its use in marketing stories, ingredient research, and formulation processes.
Other topics to be covered include the rise of “cosmetic camouflaging” and solution-focused trends, the influence of beauty on physical and mental functions in aging populations, making smart ingredient choices for new product development, and the significance of accurate and trustworthy ingredient information.
The conference will also focus on the microbiome and its role in skin barrier function and health, and sun care, with global sun care product values projected to grow by 4% annually until 2028.
With over 650 exhibitors from around the world, In-Cosmetics Asia 2024 was set to be the largest gathering in the show’s 15-year history. The event will take place from November 5 to 7 at BITEC, Bangkok.
