Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced that Shailesh Jejurikar will be the global Chief Operating Officer from October 2021, making him the first Indian to do so. He now joins a growing band of Indians heading global companies. The 54-year-old Mumbai-born Shailesh joined P&G India in 1989 and charted a successful career which saw him in senior positions in India and across the globe. He currently is CEO of P&Gโ€™s fabric and home care sector, its largest business unit. As COO, he will have profit/loss responsibility for P&G’s Enterprise Markets (Latin America, India, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe). Shaileshโ€™s appointment follows the move of current VP and COO Jon Moeller taking over from David Taylor as P&Gโ€™s President and CEO.
