The business reality show ‘Shark Tank’ is a platform for several innovative startups to showcase their ideas to potential investors viz. ‘Sharks’. While some are able to impress them, others aren’t lucky enough to gain their attention. Mintree, a premium clean skincare brand, was a recent start-up that left the judges in awe. Founded by Kanikka Dewanii, Mintree offers skincare and beauty products for salons and beauticians that help enhance customers’ experiences.

Further, their products are organic and vegan, without any harsh chemicals. Kanikka’s business started with an initial investment of Rs 3 crore. At Shark Tank India Season 3, she made a request for Rs. 90 lakhs with 1% equity at the valuation of Rs. 90 crores.

 

While Aman Gupta took an exit, Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal and Azhar Iqbal made their offers. Kanikka did not find offers made by Anupam Mittal and Vineeta Singh, acceptable; however, she accepted Peyush Bansal and Azhar Iqbal’s final offer of Rs. 90 lakhs for 1.5% equity.
