The Madras High Court has ordered spas, massage, and treatment centres to install closed CCTV cameras within their facilities compulsorily. This will help the police in ensuring that no sexually offensive behaviour occurs there. The court is of the conclusion that there are numerous such claims against ayurvedic spas and massage centres in the public domain.
Justice S.M. Subramaniam ordered the Director General of Police to give necessary directives in this regard to all spas, massage, and therapy centres. These centres are instructed to not only install CCTV cameras but also to ensure that they are operational at all times so that the footage may be reviewed on-demand.
