While our feet carry us through every step of our lives, quite literally, they often receive the least attention in self-care routines. While facial skincare and hair care dominate the beauty conversations, foot care is rarely discussed until a problem arises.
Pedicure Kits
The market today has a variety of products when it comes to foot care. Saniolla Naturals Pvt. Ltd. (Ministry of Pedicure) offers a variety of pedicure kits designed to cater to different skin needs, moods, and experiences. A few signature kits include Bombini Lush, a fun, indulgent pedicure experience inspired by ice cream, combining fruity fragrances and rich textures for a refreshing treat for your feet, and AVL Pedicruise Marine Sea Algae, a revitalising pedicure infused with marine sea algae, designed to detoxify, hydrate, and energise tired feet. AVL Pedicure Luxury, an herbal botanical pedicure is another option, featuring botanical extracts that soothe, heal, and deeply nourish the skin; Candle Therapy Mani-Pedi, a warm, sensory manicure-pedicure experience using melted candle wax enriched with essential oils for intense hydration and relaxation; and Café H&F Pedicure, an invigorating pedicure enriched with coffee extracts to exfoliate, energise, and restore smoothness to tired feet.
Happy Feet
The skin on our feet is thicker and subject to more pressure, friction, and exposure than other parts of the body. From walking barefoot at home to being enclosed in shoes all day, our feet face a unique set of stressors. This can lead to common issues like dryness, cracked heels, calluses, fungal infections, and odour.
A dedicated foot care ritual helps prevent these concerns and promotes healthy skin turnover, hydration, and protection from environmental aggressors and microbial build-up. Shaily Mehrotra, CEO & Co-founder of Fixderma, says, “Just like the skin on our face reacts differently to seasonal changes, our feet require varied care throughout the year. During monsoons, focus on keeping the feet dry and clean to avoid fungal infections. Use absorbent powders and antifungal sprays. Increase hydration through thicker emollients and incorporate foot masks once a week during winter. In summer, use light moisturisers with cooling ingredients like peppermint or aloe vera and exfoliate more frequently to remove sweat-related build-up.”
Aromatherapy for Soothing
Aromatherapy is all about the use of essential oils or products with formulations of essential oils that are soothing, relaxing, and therapeutic. It is a part of beauty therapy that works on releasing muscular stress and providing essential nutrients that penetrate through the skin pores. “I cannot recall such specific brands focused only on feet, but overall wellness and a holistic approach are prevalent in the beauty industry now, and the majority of brands are following what I started as an herbal movement, a worldwide trend,” says Shahnaz Husain, CMD Shahnaz Husain Group.
Foot Care for Diabetic Feet

Botanical products with a formulation of essential oils, plants, and herb blends are ideal for all. As for diabetic feet that require utmost care, only natural-ingredient foot cream would help heal, maintain skin health, and provide ample nourishment. Suraj Kumar, Technical Educator at Saniolla Naturals Pvt. Ltd., says, “Foot creams formulated for diabetic pain relief often contain ingredients like capsaicin or menthol, which can help alleviate pain through their warming or cooling effects. These creams can also improve circulation and provide moisturization, contributing to overall foot health.”
Beware of Ingrown Nails

Toenail hygiene is another key aspect of foot grooming. Trim nails straight across to avoid ingrown nails and keep the nail bed clean. Use nail brushes gently and avoid aggressive pushing of cuticles. If painting toenails, give them a break occasionally to prevent discolouration and allow the nails to breathe.
To prevent and manage ingrown toenails
- Ensure that you do not trim toenails too short, especially at the corners, shaping the nail to curve with the toe instead of cutting straight across
- Wear shoes that are too tight or SMALL.
“Persistent issues like heel fissures, thickened nails, recurring infections, or unusual discolouration should not be self-treated for too long. These may be signs of underlying conditions like psoriasis, eczema, diabetes-related skin changes, or fungal infections that require medical intervention,” says Mehrotra.
Hands and feet are constantly exposed or under pressure, making them prone to dryness, irritation, and visible skin issues. “Regular care prevents problems and enhances both appearance and comfort. Hands, face, and air and temperature change daily, while feet bear the body’s weight with limited ventilation—both needing more than just moisturisers. Neglect can lead to discomfort, skin conditions, or even affect overall health,” says Kumar.
As the beauty and wellness industry continues to broaden its lens, foot grooming is steadily gaining the attention it deserves—not just as a cosmetic step, but as a fundamental aspect of holistic self-care. With targeted products, seasonal care routines, and increased awareness around issues like diabetic foot health and aromatherapy, the conversation around foot care is finally evolving.
