Kerala-based Kairali Ayurvedic Group has forayed into the luxury hospitality space with the launch of Villa Raag, a boutique wellness retreat located at Agonda Beach in South Goa. Spread across nearly two acres in the Canacona region, the property has been developed as a private wellness-focused destination catering largely to travellers seeking restorative experiences centred on yoga, mindfulness and holistic living.

The new resort marks a strategic diversification for the Ayurveda-led company, which has traditionally been associated with therapeutic wellness services and Ayurvedic healing programmes. With Villa Raag, the group is extending its legacy into experiential hospitality by combining wellness therapies with premium accommodation and personalised guest services.

The property houses six exclusive rooms and includes facilities such as dedicated yoga and meditation spaces, Zen-inspired gardens, a saltwater swimming pool, curated dining experiences, concierge assistance and butler services. The retreat has been designed by Kerala-based Durga Sarath Architects, with the overall concept integrating architecture, interiors and wellness-oriented spaces into a single immersive environment.

Commenting on the launch, Abhilash Ramesh, executive director of Kairali Ayurvedic Group, said the company intends to position the retreat as a space where luxury hospitality intersects with wellness, nature and mindful travel experiences. He also shared that the project reflects a broader effort to present Goa as more than a nightlife destination by encouraging slower, wellness-driven tourism experiences.

Founded in 1989 by K.V. Ramesh and Gita Ramesh, Kairali Ayurvedic Group traces its Ayurvedic lineage back to 1908. Over the years, the company has expanded its presence beyond Kerala and currently operates Kairali – The Ayurvedic Healing Village along with 35 Ayurvedic centres spread across 10 countries.

The launch of Villa Raag signals the group’s growing focus on premium wellness tourism and destination-led hospitality experiences.
