World Digital Detox Day (WDDD), an initiative of the ZEP Foundation, will be observed on December 10, 2025, across 78 countries with the global theme “Analog Wellness – Offline is the New Luxury.” What began in India as a grassroots effort to protect families and children from digital overuse has grown into the world’s largest humanitarian movement for digital wellbeing.
WDDD promotes healthier relationships with technology through its widely adopted 1111 Digital Fasting Formula—no mobile for one hour after waking, one hour before sleeping, during meals, and one full screen-free family day each week. The initiative has drawn support from governments, educators, wellness leaders and youth networks worldwide.
The 10-day global celebration will run from December 1 to 10, featuring international panel discussions, workshops, digital fasting challenges and on-ground community programmes. Major Indian events include a large-scale WDDD Walk in Pune, yoga and aerobics at Juhu Beach, and cultural celebrations promoting mindful technology use.
In 2025, WDDD received the Global Peace Award for its international impact on digital behaviour and child protection. The movement also enjoys growing government support in India from the Ministry of Electronics & IT, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, and multiple state departments.
With global participation from Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania, World Digital Detox Day 2025 aims to spark a collective reset—encouraging people to switch off screens, reconnect with real life, and reclaim balance in an increasingly hyper-connected world.
