Garnierhas established its first plastic waste collection center in Chennai, with the goal of incorporating more ocean-bound plastic into beauty packaging. Garnier is collaborating with a social enterprise called “Plastic For Change” to use plastic waste as a resource for addressing social issues as part of an environmental initiative. Their goal is to collect 2,000 tonnes of ocean-bound plastic, and in its first year, the center will empower the lives of 2,000 people from the surrounding communities. The plastic that was gathered as part of this programme was used in the packaging of their most recent haircare line, where the product bottles are constructed entirely of recycled plastic. Additionally, Garnier will establish plastic collection points in all notable areas inMumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. AdrienKoskas, Global Brand President of Garnier, stated that their brand has a unique opportunity to create a positive impact on the planet and lead towards sustainable beauty.
