In a significant milestone for the global wellness community, Reena Sheth has been appointed the World Wellness Weekend Ambassador for India and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Her appointment marks the culmination of a six-year journey that began in 2019 with a single spa activation in Mumbai and has since evolved into a large-scale wellness movement spanning nations and communities.
Reena’s association with World Wellness Weekend started as a City Ambassador in Mumbai. Here, she launched her first activation at the Jiva Spa in The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. Even then, her vision extended beyond the walls of luxury hotels—she believed wellness should be inclusive, accessible, and rooted in purpose.

In 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, she onboarded the entire Taj Group, with 22 hotels participating virtually. This was a defining moment, reinforcing the belief that wellness, even in the face of global disruption, must continue. Over the next few years, the initiative expanded to 50+ properties in 2022 and 80+ in 2023, with a special focus on community wellness, reaching cancer care homes, orphanages, and public spaces.
By 2024, Reena launched the Wellness Carnival model and collaborated with APSWC to co-curate wellness awareness across the APAC region. Her latest appointment as regional ambassador empowers her to lead World Wellness Weekend’s mission at a broader scale—bringing together hotels, wellness brands, institutions, and communities under one united, culturally relevant wellness banner.

Speaking about her journey, Reena said, “This movement has never been about events—it’s always been about impact. From one spa to a regional mission, this is a story of what’s possible when purpose meets persistence.”
Her work continues to inspire a shift in how we view wellness—not as a luxury, but as a way of life. Reena Sheth is presently Founder Gaiia.
