Maybelline New York is making a significant impact in the fight against anxiety and depression among young adults with the expansion of its Brave Together program. The brand recently announced the launch of a free, digital version of Brave Talk, a previously in-person training program designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge to support friends struggling with mental health issues.
This interactive training program utilizes an engaging animated format to present the five key steps – B.R.A.V.E. – that guide users on how to approach a friend experiencing mental health challenges. These steps include:
Be Present: Actively listen and show your friend you care.
Right Setting: Choose a private, comfortable space for open conversation.
Ask Questions: Encourage your friend to express themselves openly and honestly.
Validate Feelings: Acknowledge their emotions and let them know you understand.
Encourage Action: Help them explore resources and connect with professional support if needed.

Making a Difference Together
Developed in partnership with The Jed Foundation, a leading non-profit focused on teen and young adult mental health, Brave Talk is a crucial step in addressing the growing mental health crisis faced by young people today.
“Expanding the Brave Talk training into digital spaces where schools and young people can access it freely, 24/7 is a crucial step toward addressing and protecting the mental health of teens and young adults,” says John MacPhee, CEO of The Jed Foundation.
Through Brave Together, Maybelline New York has set an ambitious goal which is to help 10 million people access mental health support and donate USD 20 million by 2030.
