After the announcement of setting up the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in India by World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed that it is a matter of pride for the country. “I am confident that just like India has emerged as the pharmacy of the world, in the same manner, this Centre too will become the centre for global wellness,” he added. PM Modi dedicated the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar (Gujarat) and the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur (Rajasthan) as future-ready Ayurveda institutions to the nation.
