Unilever, the consumer-goods conglomerate, has decided to make major changes to its organisational structure, making it simpler with more focus on categories.  It plans to shed its present structure and group its businesses under five business heads:

  1. Beauty & Well-being (which includes Hair Care, Skin Care, as well as Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements, and Unilever Prestige)
  2. Personal Care
  3. Home Care
  4. Nutrition;
  5. Ice Cream

Each group will be solely responsible for its growth, strategy and profits. With this new structuring, the company will be able to enhance growth and be more responsive. There has been reshuffling of key appointments too, which will be effective from 1st April 2022. The new organisational model will see a 15% drop in senior roles, a 5% increase in junior management appointments, and reduction of about 1500 roles worldwide.
