In a bid to reduce carbon footprint, Unilever is all set to launch a paper bottle for detergent for the first time. A unique technology is used to create its first paper-based bottle made from cellulose pulp using sustainable resources. The packaging has a proprietary inner coating that retains all the liquid products like shampoos, conditioners, and detergents. A prototype of this product was created for Unilever’s OMO brand. The bottle should be ready to be launched in Brazil by 2022 and thereafter, in Europe and other countries. Unilever is also creating paper-based hair care bottles using the same technology.
