From April 2021, the name ‘Ayush’ will represent the 7 wellness disciplines of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sow-Rigpa and Homeopathy which earlier came under the Ministry of AYUSH. This re-naming of AYUSH, an acronym, into a single unified name and Ministry is especially important in the growing acceptance and popularity of these wellness disciplines globally. The Ministry of Ayush undertakes various initiatives for international promotion, propagation & global acceptability of Ayush systems. The COVID pandemic further sharpened the consumer focus on prevention and immunity-building to foster wellness. This has boosted the demand for alternative medicine and wellness products of Ayurvedic origin and increased its popularity as wellness drinks, snacks and supplements.
