Marriott International aims to increase its foothold in South Asia with 22 new hotel agreements. In the last 1.5 years it has been working to add more than 2,700 rooms to its portfolio. The expansion plans are meant for India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal. These include resorts and hotels in the luxury segment.
Travellers can look forward W Hotels brand in Jaipur by 2024. Besides that, there will be JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa – The Ranthambore National Park; JW Marriott Agra Resort & Spa, JW Marriott Chennai ECR Resort & Spa, and JW Marriott in Goa and Shimla. The brand also plans to venture into Bhutan with JW Marriott Hotel Bhutan, Thimphu by 2025, while Maldives should get its second JW Marriott hotel in 2025.
These expansion plans show the brand’s perseverance towards continuous expansion and growth. It is also a testament of confidence from the owners and franchisees.
